To reach Yamunotri Dham, pilgrims typically begin their journey from Haridwar or Rishikesh, which are the major hubs near the temple. From there, they travel by road either in a private taxi, shared jeep, or bus to Janki Chatti, the last motorable point. After reaching Janki Chatti, a 6 km trek to the temple begins, which can be done on foot, or by hiring a palki, pony, or doli for a more comfortable ride. This route is the most common way to reach the sacred shrine of Yamunotri.
