I want information on Gangotri - Goumukh - Tapovan trek. Please advice.
- Do we have to take any permission for Gangotri - Gomukh - Tapovan trek? If yes, then from where and how?
- Can I go with my wife, any problem..?
- I also want to know from where I can get the tent on rent and other trekking equipments.

The permission is not required for trekking in Gangotri, Gaumukh and Tapovan trek. But do carry your identity proofs with yourself in case you are asked to produce for verification from Police or Army people there.

There are no problem if you go with your wife. Many female pilgrims and trekkers take this trek.

For tents you can either check with different travel agents in Delhi and Rishikesh, or you can get them from local agents at Gangotri. But it is better to take either from Delhi or Rishikesh.

Tapovan is an ideal location for the tourists looking for peace and adventure. Tapovan is located on an altitude of 4463m / 14640ft above sea level. Tapovan is base camp for shivlinga peak in Uttaranchal hills. One can also have a nice view of bhagirathi peaks from tapovan medow. Every year this place has been visited by thousands of tourist including foreigners for adventure activity like mountaineering & trekking.
